I've lived in 4 states and they made the best cappuccino I've ever had. Perfect froth. The Bockus sandwich was incredible. Highly recommended if you are looking for a real coffee shop for breakfast or lunch like you would find in a bigger city. This is the spot.
The Espresso Shoppe was my "office" six days a week for nearly a month while I was in North Platte doing research. What a great find! Friendly, easy-going; the coffee and tea selection is excellent and the food is fresh and tasty. The breakfast sandwiches will spoil you rotten for any fast-food versions. Real egg, crisp bacon, try it on toasted sourdough bread. I shed a tear when I had to leave town. I miss you, Espresso Shoppe!
Loved the geriatric vibe! Old people need caffeine too. It was open mic night and everyone sang along with the opener. We were obviously not locals and the old folks checked us out thoroughly, though the younger waiting staff treated us like the rest of the patrons. Espresso was good but coffee a bit cold and weak. We got there at about 7 pm, however, and we appeared to be the only coffee drinkers. Will return for our next road trip.
The new owner has done a lot with the place. He's changed things around and the food is amazing! He's put his own twist on the place. He employees the most helpful and friendly staff. Great atmosphere, great people, great customer service, great prices, and great coffee. Highly recommend a stop if down town.
